Kim Rothwell is a Rio Rancho-based producer and passionate advocate for youth theatre. She is deeply committed to creating opportunities for children of all backgrounds to experience the confidence, creativity, and connection that come from being part of a production.
Through her work with Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads and in partnership with Open Arts Studio NM, Kim helps bring accessible, community-centered theatre programs to life. She is especially focused on expanding children’s theatre opportunities in Rio Rancho and the Bernalillo area, increasing access so more students can participate and grow through the arts.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory holds a special place in Kim’s heart. Her older son first performed in the show as a fifth grader, and now, as a high school senior, he returns to the story alongside her youngest son, who is currently in fifth grade. This full-circle moment makes the production especially meaningful, reflecting both her family’s journey and her deep belief in the lasting impact of youth theatre.
